“The Retirement Landscape Has Changed – Are Plan Sponsors Ready?”

Speakers:
Cheryl Ouellette – Specialist Master, Rewards & Well-being – Deloitte
Scott Manson – Manager, Rewards & Well-being – Deloitte

Please join us as we kick off our fall education schedule with survey results that are “hot off the press”! 2019 marks the 16th edition of the Deloitte Defined Contribution Benchmarking Survey. We’re pleased to welcome our two speakers as they share the results and the implications for both plan sponsors and those who work with them.

In the era of 100-year lives and the workforce participation rate among those age 65 and older surpassing 20% for the first time in more than 50 years, it is clear that American’s notion of “normal retirement” is changing. The survey supports this trend by showing that many employees continue to work even though they are eligible to retire. Learn how the retirement landscape is changing with the alternative workforce, new entrants to the workforce, plan sponsor responses to trends, and how fiduciaries are balancing participant needs. Our discussion will include:

・Understanding the impact of a changing workforce with delayed retirement, student debt, and broader financial wellness needs

・Learning how to guide participant behavior through retirement savings, targeted communications, mobile capabilities and HSAs

・Understanding how plan feature solutions are utilized for auto enrollment/step up, managed accounts, financial counseling, Roth features and investments

・Understanding how fiduciaries are responding to changing participant needs and the offset for those changes
