Certified Employee Benefit Specialist Fellowship
3 Great Ways to Earn Fellowship:
(for CEBS graduates only)
Fellowship status is awarded to members who pass the continuing education
examination once every two years. This special distinction recognizes Society members
who are committed to continuing their professional development by broadening their
knowledge in employee benefits, compensation and key related areas. Materials are
distributed each year in February or March, and testing begins in late April and continues
until late May.
Fellowship status is awarded to members who complete one of the two compensation
courses, provided the course has not already been used to complete the CEBS
designation.:
Comp 1: Compensation and Principals
Comp 2: Executive Compensation and Compensation Issues
Both are offered through the CEBS program. When you pass the compensation course,
you will earn the Compensation Management Specialist (CMS) designation and receive a
certificate recognizing your accomplishment. Plus, the CMS, when combined with the
CEBS designation, will validate your status as a total compensation professional.
Fellowship status is awarded to members who complete one of two personal financial
planning courses, provided the course has not already been used to complete the CEBS
designation:
Personal Financial Planning 1: Concepts and Principals
Personal Financial Planning 2: Tax and Estate Planning Techniques
Both are offered through the CEBS program. When you pass the personal financial
planning exam, you will become eligible to sit for the CFP Certification Examination
without additional education prerequisites. You will receive a certificate recognizing your
professional development in the financial planning curriculum.
Due to year-round computer-based testing, you can schedule the compensation (option 2) and/or the financial planning (option 3) testing exams when it is convenient for you. Both the compensation and financial planning exams must be completed during a specific testing cycle. For this and other information, study materials and exam applications, visit the Society website at www.iscebs.org or contact the ISCEBS staff at iscebs@iscebs.org.
