Volunteer Opportunities
The Twin Cities Chapter is powered by volunteers. The following committees welcome volunteers. Please contact the current Chairperson for more information.
Social Media, Membership, and Marketing Committee
The chairpersons of the committee are Stephanie Carter and Cheryl Nienhuis.
The Committee is tasked with recruiting new members, responding to member and non-member inquiries, and coordinating the creation and distribution of membership materials. The Committee personally contacts new designees, responds to inquiries upon request from the event coordinator or a Board Member, staffs a membership table at events, and is accountable for the completion of the annual Membership Challenge.
The committee is also responsible for designing and executing all chapter communications and social media activity. This includes maintaining the Chapter website and providing recognition materials for graduates and those contributing to the Chapter. It also includes sending out a monthly newsletter with Chapter news, announcements, and general updates on our Chapter.
Education Committee
The chairpersons of the committee are Natalie Chandler and Leigh Stepan.
The Committee is composed of members with diverse expertise in all areas of benefits. This ensures that the programs will be well balanced and appeal to the broadest audience. The Committee sponsors eight educational meetings a year in addition to coffee conversations. Continuing education credit for CEBS designation-holders and Minnesota Insurance purposes is generally offered for attending each session. Continuing Education credit for other professional organizations may also be available. The meetings are designed to be educational and not considered sales opportunities. The Event Coordinator (a paid position as contracted by the Chapter) provides email invitations for each meeting and coordinates registrations.
Sponsorship and Networking Committee
The chairperson of the committee is Angela Subera.
The Committee secures Chapter sponsors for luncheon events and networking events. This ensures that the Chapter has the financial resources to provide education and networking events for our members. Each year, Committee members determine the sponsor tiers to be used for the year and then reach out to companies with opportunities to sponsor the Chapter for the year. Committee members provide recognition for sponsors throughout the year in connection with the Social Media, Membership, and Marketing Committee.
